The story of the rocks 65 and 80. Rocks were moved/arranged to depict the years 1965 and 1980 at the waterline during the drought. My friend went down in 1980 and saw the rocks from 1965 and they built they rock sign below that one. Phgoto from USGS.

I was just a kid when my Dad and I took these photos, it was incredible to see how low the reservoir became.

I guess I was always lured to the stories of finding the old remains of Boonton, before the Town was moved to higher land. Needless to saw the myths were put to rest as we never observed any structure based on the level in the reservoir at the time. Who knows what lurks below the rest?
